Do you want a real work from home job? Have you ever posted to a group to ask for one and all you got were pitches for business opportunities? Or worse, scams? Hey, perhaps you were even searching for one on a job board and come to find out it's a business opportunity! I hate that! Well, I got you covered! [Read more…]
I've been busy this week on a business trip and enjoying having family over. During this entire time, [Read more…]
I started my new job in early 2014. It was an amazing opportunity, and I have to admit, one of the best jobs I’ve had so far. I learn something new all the time, I get to travel and I feel my expertise is valued. That’s saying a lot. But there’s one thing I knew from the start – the key to success at this job is follow up.
I have ALWAYS been bad at follow up. The sad thing, is that I know “the fortune is in the follow up”, which is a common saying in the network marketing industry. And it’s true. People will just not follow up – so it is up to you to do so if you want to get the job done! This is as true in my business as it is in my job. [Read more…]
Literally. I have an app on my phone that I use as my To Do list. And these are all legitimate tasks, and truth be told most of them are household related, but I have plenty of business tasks as well.
After cooking dinner, I got the list down to 366. Not including writing this blog post, which, of course is important but not technically on the list. Of course not. [Read more…]
Exercise. Hudson River. Pretty nature walks.
Self-care & family time – check. 🙂 [Read more…]
I got seriously ahead at work on some tasks that needed to happen. Which is great because I can manage my workload a bit better going forward. I signed up for some serious training, so I’m very excited about learning some new skills. Friday, we had friends over so we grilled salmon and veggies on the grill, and it was amazing (recipe for salmon below). Yesterday morning, I made my protein shake and a smoothie for the girls. I put a load of laundry in the machine while I worked outside on my laptop, watching the girls play and get some sun. Later, we went to Walkway over the Hudson. It’s a gorgeous walk over the Hudson River. The girls loved it (and, for the first time, I didn't bring the stroller with me, yay!). [Read more…]
I’m back. I have to admit, life got in the way – or, better put, I got in my own way. Because if I wanted to say the raw truth, excuses don’t cut it. And we all have them, don’t we?
I look back on my life over the years, and I realize I’ve always been in planning mode. And always thinking the grass is greener on the “other side”. It is true that it takes time and money to start and build a business. The less money you have, the more time you need. The more money you have, the faster you can build. All elementary stuff, I know. But my point is that there were points in my life where I was laid off and had all the time in the world — but no money. I couldn’t start then! If only I had a job to finance my dreams. So I got a job. And had no time. Oh great. If only I had the time, what could I accomplish! [Read more…]
(vintage post, but still relevant!)
Pardon my appearance, but I wanted to get started blogging! So it’s not perfect, but over time, I will make the necessary changes to make it pretty.
Since I was a child, I’ve wanted to be an entrepreneur. Many years back, my sister and I had an idea to create some t-shirts and sell them during the summer. We created two designs, purchased a million tee shirts (ok, it was about a thousand), purchased a tent, and went travelling to various parades and outdoor events during the summer.
This took a lot of planning. We had some friends help us and before every event, my sister would look at me and sarcastically scream
“WHAT’S THE PLAAAAAAANNNNNN?” [Read more…]
Another vintage post, but still relevant….
So, I thought it might be helpful, if you are going on this journey with me, to get a little understanding of what my life is like. I’m sure I’ve got the same challenges many people have, but I’m also blessed in many ways as well. I’m keeping it real, so I will be as honest as I can and disclose as much pertinent information as possible. [Read more…]
