Is Success Guaranteed in Your Business?

We’ve all been conditioned. Every time we see someone say ‘Success Guaranteed’ we give it the side-eye. After all, you think, nothing is ever guaranteed (except death). But is that really true?
Nope. In the network marketing and online marketing industry, I can say that yes, you can definitely believe in the success guaranteed claim. But you have to read the fine print.

You’ve heard it all, I’m sure.

“It’s a numbers game” “you have to build rapport” “time is money”.

And then someone is there ready and willing with a course or system in hand to solve all of your problems. What I’m about to say is going to be harsh, but true:

Nothing will work unless YOU do.

You can get the best advice in the world for free. You can spend thousands of dollars on books and courses. Many of them will be EXCELLENT and I’m sure that when you purchased them, you just *knew* this was the one course that was going to put you over the top! After all, Tony made $10k in 30 days – you can too!

But what you don’t realize is that Tony may have worked his behind off.

There is one way you can guarantee success in your business: do the work, following a simple formula:

  • Do
  • Learn
  • Correct
  • Gain Experience
  • Repeat

Do

Get started. Create a strategy – online, offline, whatever. Start with what you know. Prospect. Talk to people. Create content and put it online (a blog, Facebook post, etc). Even if you think are you are doing it wrong. Create a strategy that has a to-do list and just work on activity goals. Notice, I didn’t say income goals – focus on activity and the income will come! Will you be terrible at first? Of course you will! So what!?!?

Learn

While you are doing, pick something to learn. JUST ONE THING. You can go to free resources, purchase a book, and purchase a course or a system. Stop paying attention to anything else but the topic you are learning. Finish it. Then guess what? IMPLEMENT what you learned!

Correct

So now that you learned a new skill and are practicing it, you should immediately update your strategy to include this new skill. Keep in mind that when looking at your strategy, you are thinking of adding, deleting or changing your activities. For example, if you took a Facebook course, you may have some work to do updating your profile and want to start changing what and how often you post.

Gain Experience

Give yourself time. Remember, you are implementing a new strategy and learning a new skill. It may take time to see results of that new skill. One of the ways you can measure if you are doing better – and, this is my process/project management skills coming out here – is to find something that you can quantify and then track that item. So, for example, if you are working on creating better Facebook content, try figuring out if your likes & comments increase. If you are learning prospecting skills, how many leads are you getting? How many people are you talking to? How many people agreed to look at your presentation? How many said yes?

There are many ways to track progress – pick a favorite and work with that. The best thing about being in business is that you don’t have to submit status reports to anyone but yourself. 🙂

Repeat

Yup. The good ‘ole rinse & repeat. While you are busy implementing a strategy and gaining new skills and habits, learn something else. Maybe it’s a continuation of that topic, or maybe it’s something new. One caveat: Make sure what you are learning is congruent with your strategy and goals. Make sure you are learning something that will help you further your business, not take your attention away!

How Is Success Guaranteed?

Easy. First, you are in ACTION. There is no way you can’t get better as you create more content and talk to more people. Especially if you are learning something new! If you KEEP GOING and DON’T QUIT, you *will* get more leads and sales! Sure, they may not come immediately, but I can say with experience that the work you are doing today will help you exponentially tomorrow.

Let me be clear. You may have to alter your path a little bit. Your first strategy may not be at all what it should be, and during this process you may find the entire thing change completely! And please understand that I’m not saying that you won’t have obstacles. You will have people still saying no – 7 and 8 figure earners still have prospects saying no to them! So please adjust your expectations and be realistic.

One more thing. To be a success you absolutely need money and time. How much you spend will depend on your budget, but it is worth it to reinvest your earnings into your business to expedite your success. If you don’t have a lot of time, definitely look into increasing that budget to compensate (for example, hire a graphic designer on fiverr.com or pay for an ad to get leads). Either way, the more time you spend on your business, the faster your success. Please understand that someone putting in 20 hours a week will have quicker results than someone putting in 5!

I talk about learning something new in order to add to your skill-set and augment your strategy. What kinds of things should you be learning? Here is a short list:

  • Attraction Marketing
  • Copywriting
  • Content Creation
  • How To Get Leads in [pick a social media platform]
  • Prospecting
  • Closing
  • Blogging
  • Video – Facebook Live, Periscope, YouTube
  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • Paid Ad Strategies

Please don’t look at this list and be overwhelmed! You don’t have to do and know EVERYTHING!!! Start with one topic based upon your business, strategy and personality (if you aren’t a pictures person, Instagram may not be for you) and then branch out from there.
