Facebook seems to be the most popular social media platform for lead generation, and I’d guess that YouTube would be the close second. Seems like some many people sleep on Twitter lead generation….but I don’t and let me tell you: it works.

My story: I started learning how to use Twitter using this free training. When I started, I had a Twitter account but only about 20 people followed me – all friends and family. As of Friday evening, here are my Twitter followers:

Not too shabby, huh? I mean — let’s be honest — it’s not a million followers like some top Tweeters have. But for someone who started with no audience, I’m pretty proud.

I will also be honest here and say that I have NOT been consistent in growing my following as I should. I stopped being consistent when my audience was about 7,000 — but it grew anyway. On it’s OWN. I’ve been pleasantly shocked.

So, what is it that I do? Well check out this short tutorial below:

So this video talks about getting Twitter followers, but what I don’t mention is content — which I’ll cover in a later post. But the million dollar  question is, how do I get Twitter Lead Generation out of this?

There are two ways. One, by interacting with your followers. Go to Twitter (or use a tool like Manage Flitter) and interact with your followers. Like and re-tweet their stuff. Comment. Now, I do not do this for every single follower, but I go in on occasion and interact. You are establishing a relationship. I have and do DM (direct message) on occasion, but my main goal is to get people to 2 places: my blog and my Facebook page. I do most of my interaction on Facebook.

The goal of Twitter is to get people to know, like and trust you. Posting lifestyle content, motivation and valuable content (teach them something!) will build that following. Every once in awhile I have gotten a lead through a link or even a sale!

Twitter works for me because I can manage it quickly during the day. For a super busy person short on time, it is a great option.

When you are beginning your journey in online marketing, it is highly recommended to choose ONE platform to focus on until you are getting at minimum 5-10 leads per day. If you are busy like me, you should highly consider Twitter.

To Your Victory,

This should be obvious, but I do use affiliate links on some things. I will never recommend something I don’t use myself, and you don’t spend any extra money, but I get a few cents for the recommendation. Hey, don’t hate — duplicate!
